Welcome to Breaking Out of the Box!

Thank you for stopping by!

Hello there! Here at Breaking Out of the Box, our passion is breaking out of the conventional box and living life the way nature intended: full of wellness, purpose, and abundance!

Four basic fundamentals are necessary for all life forms: oxygen, water, food, and sleep. So it stands to reason that these four fundamentals are absolutely vital for health and wellness.

Our world has changed dramatically over the past 100 years. Today, we are inundated with toxic chemicals through the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the products we use in our homes and on our bodies; it is no wonder we are experiencing a major health epidemic.

A Little About Me!!

Hello there! My name is Danielle!

I am a 37-year-old single mother of three children, Ashlyn (16), Brianna (14), and Michael (6), a blogger, and healthy and sustainable living enthusiast.

A child of the 70’s, I grew up on the Standard American Diet (SAD). I was a very picky eater who took a liking to Spaghettio’s, Fruit Loops, McDonalds, and soda. I drank nothing but soda for more than two decades. At age 11, I was very lethargic and lacked the energy most children my age seemed to possess. After a bout of medical testing, it was discovered that my red blood cell count was so low that my Doctor could not believe I was upright and mobile. My dietary habits were never addressed. I was diagnosed as anemic, given an iron supplement, and sent on my way.

After several emergency room visits in both my teens and my 20’s and a four-night hospital stay accompanied with another round of tests, I learned that I previously had bleeding ulcers that had healed over (great, now we know where the severe anemia came from), and my gall bladder only functioned 45% of the time. Another prescription and sent on my way. Then there was another round of tests again in my 30’s (because of those pesky stomach aches, cramps, bloating, and vomiting episodes that just would not subside) which came back with no results. I was handed a blanket diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), or as I like to call it the “I don’t know what is wrong with you so I-BS-you syndrome.” And again I was sent on my way with more prescription drugs. Does this sound familiar?

The time has come to break out of the toxic box and start living life the way Nature intended!
